Treatment for canker (trichomoniasis) in pigeons. Contains Dimeridazole.
Dosage and administration:
Application via the drinking water. Dissolve 1 sachet (2.5g powder) in 2 litres of water and offer to birds as their sole drinking water (treats 40 birds).
This is equivalent to 60mg Dimetridazole per kg bodyweight per day.
For accurate dosing Chevicol powder should be carefully mixed into the correct volume of drinking water.
Treatment should continue for 5 consecutive days.
In cases of hot weather or increased water consumption, daily treatment may continue for 8-10 days with reduced dosage of 1 sachet in 4 litres of water.
Weak birds should receive individual treatment by giving 5-10ml of solution directly into the beak with a pipette. This corresponds to a dose of 2.5-5mg Dimetridazole per bird per day. In weak birds the application by pipette is to be preferred over the use of Chevicol capsules.
