Cosequin RS contains a unique combination of active ingredients that support the cartilage. Cosequin RS is often used in smaller dogs who may be starting to get a bit stiff in the joints. The most important advantage of the cosequin rs capsule is that its contents can be sprinkled onto food (preferably moist or wet food, to ensure that the entire amount of cosequin rs is taken). Cosequin RS is only available as capsules.
Glucosamine Hydrochloride supports the secretion of GAGs (Glycosaminoglycans) produced by cartilage cells from glucose.
Chondroitin sulphate binds with collagen for tensile strength and control of water content. Manganese ascorbate is a necessary co-factor for GAG and collagen synthesis and if deficient, collagen fibres cannot be cross linked, which greatly decreases the tensile strength of the fibres. Through the combination of actions of these three ingredients, Cosequin RS supports normal joint function.
