Methisal is used in the management of Laminitis in horses, a common condition that causes pain to horses and frustration to their owners. Methisal is an equine nutritional supplement containing salts of sodium, potassium and calcium with methionine and zinc which is used as an aid in the management of Laminitis. Methisal provides horse owners with an additional tool with which they can actively contribute to the treatment of this debilitating condition. Laminitis in the horse is a complicated disease process, and although the physiological changes leading to the clinical signs may be fairly uniform, they are probably triggered by a large number of different factors acting individually or together.
