Daily oral hygiene maintenance for dogs under 10 kg
– Limits the development of dental plaque and tartar – Helps fight bad breath Contraindications: Dogs under 6 months of age, Chronic renal failure, Dogs with cardiac disease: should be adjusted according to the daily sodium intake (each bar provides 194 mg of sodium). Product Advantages: Brushing Effect: Mechanical action on dental plaque and tartar. During chewing, the texture, structure and shape of Mini Oral Bar have an abrasive effect on dental plaque and tartar. This mechanical action helps to degrade the biofilm structure of dental plaque and attack existing tartar deposits whilst delaying the formation of new deposits. Tartar Control: Action on calcium. Sodium tripolyphosphate is a calcium-chelating agent, so calcium ions (Ca++) becomes unavailable for tartar formation. Because it is highly hydrophilic, tripolyphosphate spreads throughout the whole of the oral cavity, including areas that are not physically touched by Mini Oral Bar during mastication. Zinc, included in many human toothpastes, promotes calcium solubility and slows down calcium fixation in the form of tartar. Bacteria Control: Action that helps limit bad breath. Bad breath occurs as a result of the presence of Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.) produced by bacteria. The key components included in Mini Oral Bar (zinc, eucalyptus and green tea polyphenols) have antiseptic properties and also help reduce bacterial growth, thus limiting the amount of Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.) produced. Further Information: Tooth brushing is the most effective dental care available to fight against dental plaque. After tooth brushing, Mini Oral Bar is probably the easiest and the most effective way to promote the dog`s good oral hygiene. The trials we conducted in dogs showed no weight gain. However, Mini Oral Bar is a nutritional complement which provides approximately 40 kcal per bar. It is recommended that in order to avoid overfeeding, the dog`s daily food intake should be decreased by approximately 10%. This restriction should be adjusted according to the dog`s activity levels. Dosage Directions For Use Mini Oral Bar should be given whole, once daily in between meals in order to maximise its efficacy on dental plaque. Advice for Use Before prescribing Mini Oral Bar, an examination of the dog’s oral cavity is recommended to detect any periodontitis that may cause reluctance to chew due to dental pain. Mini Oral Bar, which is recommended after scaling, can also be used in a behavioural context or as a reward: - in young dogs over 6 months of age during training, - in adult dogs, after grooming, eye and/or ear cleaning, tooth brushing, etc… |
