Zentonil for the maintenance of normal liver function for dogs and & cats.

Zentonil is a nutritional supplement for supporting normal liver function. It contains S-Adenosylmethionine (SAM-e), a molecule that is produced by all living cells and has a very important role in the production of Glutathione, one of the liver's major antioxidants.

Whenever a liver is compromised, the production of naturally occurring antioxidants is decreased and a production of free oxygen radicals increases. Free oxygen radicals damage cell membranes and are thought to be the main mechanism of liver cell destruction. Antioxidants are liver's main defence during this process.

Around 45% of cats and dogs with liver problems have a low hepatic glutathione level. Zentonil is available in two strengths, for greater accuracy and ease of administration.

Tablets are enteric-coated and should be given to the animal on an empty stomach. Enteric coating ensures that the active substance reaches the small intestine unchanged, which is essential for optimal absorption.
