Product details

Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d is designed to ensure that the minerals in your dog’s diet are balanced, reducing the risk of bladder stone formation.

How it works

This mix contains very low amounts of potassium, magnesium, and calcium, all of which can crystalise in your dog’s bladder and from stones. As these minerals make up less than 3% of this recipe, the Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d can limit crystal formation. The L-carnitine in the food helps to increase your dog’s protein absorption, which can in turn help keep weight gain in check. The range of carefully selected vitamins can also promote kidney function and boost the immune system. Furthermore, antioxidants counter the build-up of free radicals. These molecules can attack and damage healthy cells, which in turn can lead to the formation of cancers and other serious illnesses.

Key benefits

  • balanced mineral composition minimises the formation of bladder stones
  • essential vitamins complement your dog’s immune system < /li>
  • high quality, easy to digest proteins< /li>
  • supports kidney function
  • low levels of sodium
  • enriched with antioxidants for defence from free radicals
  • fortified with L-carnitine for improved protein uptake.

When to use it

Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d is potentially effective as a preventative measure, helping to reduce the risk that your dog will develop bladder stones. In addition, this food can also provide your dog with a high protein, small portion diet. If your dog does have bladder stones, then the mix could also help control and manage the problem.

Straining when going to the toilet in the garden on or your walk together could be a symptom of bladder stones. Additional warnings signs could be a reduced appetite, and noticeable changes in usual behaviour. If left untreated, bladder stones are a serious health risk to your dog, causing blockages in their system. Severe cases often require surgery, which can be distressing, and easily avoided, provided the signs are spotted and treated early.

Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. For more information on feeding Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d to your dog, please consult your veterinary surgeon.

  • Max delight
Good and easy to order. Repeat order easy and discounted. Package much improved for heavier bags of food. Contents of bag devoured too quick, must be tasty for the dog. Recommend to save time, money and delivery. You’ve guessed it, we are in isolation and have been since last March. Pick up phone and dial now

  • Hills UD canned food
My male terrier cross was prescribed this food about eighteen months ago and has been on it since then &;the dried version doesn't agree with him, It seems to do what it says and has has no evidence of the cysteine stones reoccurring. So on the plus side which is the main point it seems to be working and preventing further surgery . On the negative side the recipe appears to have changed slightly since the later months of 2016 same time as the labels changed the quality has been down with poorly mixed contents, spurious colours appearing and the smell which was never good has got worse a warm tin will make you heave if you get too close.

  • My dog has stayed healthy
My black lab cross had a massive operation years ago to remove 8 stones from his bladder. This food has kept him stone free. Well worth it.
