Royal Canin Gastro Intestinal Moderate Calorie Adult Cat Food
Product details
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Gastro Intestinal Moderate Calorie GIM 35 is a complete nutritional cat food specially designed to combat the risk and discomfort caused by digestive disorders.
How it works
This easily digestible food is fortified with EPA and DHA fatty acids, which improve digestive health. Its fermentable fibres feed the micro flora in your cat's gut, while the inclusion of MOS stimulates the immune system, neutralising pathogenic bacteria that can cause further illness and digestive discomfort. As well as being flavoursome enough to appeal to the fussiest eaters (or smallest appetites), this formulation has a moderate calorie count to help cats with a fuller figure maintain a healthy weight.
Fed to your cat in small portions throughout the day, Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Gastro Intestinal Moderate Calorie GIM 35 is a simple way to reduce digestive discomfort.
Key benefits
- nutritionally complete and doesn't need to be supplemented with other food
- easy to digest
- contains nutrients that support a balanced digestive system
- EPA and DHA fatty acids help maintain digestive health
- tastes great: ideal for fussy cats and those with reduced appetites
- moderate calorie content helps maintain a healthy weight.
When to use it
Gastrointestinal disorders prevent your cat from digesting food efficiently and can lead to a number of symptoms. They may have trouble healing and gaining energy, or display vomiting, gas, weakness, constipation or regurgitation. However, the biggest sign of digestive disorder is soft stools and diarrhoea, which can lead to serious side effects like dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Should you notice any of these symptoms, speak to your vet as soon as possible; they will be able to offer a diagnosis and suitable treatment.
Your vet may recommend Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Gastro Intestinal Moderate Calorie GIM 35 if your cat has gastrointestinal issues such as colitis, dysbakteria, inflammatory bowel disease, exocrine pancreatic inefficiency, gastritis, malabsorption or maldigestion. It can also be used to aid recovery after periods of acute diarrhoea. Treatment length is usually two weeks (for acute diarrhoea) and 3 to 12 weeks for other issues. However, cats with more serious ailments may be recommended to continue on the diet for a longer period.
Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. Great for fussy pussesMy cat has pancreatitis, gastritis and another -ittis so is on a fairly limited diet but he loves this food. He'll even stick his paws in the container to get some more... The only thing I WOULD say is make sure you get the right one, as the moderate calorie and "high calorie" are very similar.
-

Happy cat! Irritable bowel syndrone no longer a problem!Ever since we had her as a kitten she suffered from diarrhoea. Then the vet recommended this gastro intestinal food which we give her exclusively and she is now perfectly healthy. She just can't cope with "normal" cat food.
