Supreme Bathing Sand
Keep your small animals’ skin and coat clean and nourished with this Supreme Bathing Sand. Bacteria- and dust-free, it’s suitable for chinchillas, gerbils and degus.
How it works
This 100% natural Supreme Bathing Sand is free from bacteria and dust, making it safe for use by chinchillas, degus and gerbils with sensitive skin. It’s soft and fine, which means the grains can penetrate your pet’s fur and scrub the skin underneath as they roll around in it. This helps to remove debris and excess oils that build up on the surface.
Simply place this sand in a box with high sides. It should be several inches deep and big enough for your pet to roll around in to clean themselves. Remember to remove the box after a few hours, as you don’t want your pets to overclean and dry their skin, or use the box for litter. A sand bath a couple of times a week should be sufficient, though small animals require cleaning a little more often in warmer weather. Once the box has been used, remove any waste and top up the sand for reuse a few more times before disposal.
- 100% natural bathing sand for small animals
- dust- and bacteria-free
- penetrates fine fur to clean skin
- lifts away excess oils and nourishes coat
- ideal for chinchillas, gerbils and degus
When to use it
Small furry animals can’t be bathed in water, as their dense fur retains it, leaving them damp and susceptible to the growth of fungus on their skin. If you have a chinchilla, degu or gerbil, use this Supreme Bathing Sand as an alternative. Not only does it keep their skin and coat in great condition, it’s a physical activity that keeps them active and simulates their natural behaviour in the wild.
