Product details

Purina Pro Plan veterinary diets feline DM diabetes management wet food pouch can keep your diabetic cat’s blood sugar levels steady.

How it works

This food has been carefully blended for diabetic cats. To help regulate their blood sugar, the food contains few carbohydrates, preventing levels rising after meals. Instead, this food is rich in high-quality protein, which helps your cat produce more insulin naturally. That way, they might be able to take less external insulin. You should check with your vet about this before switching foods.

Free radicals in your pet’s body are also affected by diabetes. To keep them low, this food has been packed with the antioxidant vitamin E. In the long run, this can help to avoid serious illnesses, such as cancer.

Key benefits

  • special recipe for your diabetic cat
  • helps stabilise blood sugar levels
  • low in carbohydrates
  • high in protein
  • helps your cat produce insulin
  • packed with natural antioxidant vitamin E.

When to use it

Just like humans, diabetic cats can’t produce enough insulin to naturally regulate their blood sugar levels by themselves. As well as external insulin, a special diet can help regulate their blood sugar and improve their overall health.

Low-carb diets are best for pets with diabetes, to keep glucose in check. Look out for symptoms such as dehydration, unexplained weight loss and mopey behaviour in your cat. If you’re concerned, seek advice. It’s also wise to consult your vet before changing your cat's diet, especially if you suspect they are diabetic. Note, this food is not recommended for pregnant cats, kittens or pets who are on a low-protein diet as a result of conditions such as liver disease or kidney failure.
